Who we are

We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.

Seeds of Justice is a group of immigrants, educators, mothers, youth, and community leaders who are committed to strengthening Worthington communities of color by pushing for equal representation in local decision making, and creating spaces for Worthington community members to advocate for the solutions they need.

Our organization is led by folks that adequately represent the growing racial and ethnic diversity of southwest MN.

Our approach

Our Mission

As communities of color, we honor diverse backgrounds, experiences and the land we are on. We build power and equity by strengthening cultural roots in our community, creating trauma and culturally-informed community programming, promoting representative local decision-making and building intergenerational alliances and partnerships. We are committed to uplifting unheard voices for our collective unity and healing.

Whether it is a reassuring conversation, financial help, education, professional training, or simply the assurance that they are not alone, we will make sure that everyone gets support that meets them where they’re at as quickly as possible.

Our Vision

Seeds of Justice envisions a community that celebrates diversity, creates systems change and builds an infrastructure that adequately serves its growing, diverse populations in Worthington and surrounding areas in southwest Minnesota. We strive to foster healthy communities and honor Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Immigrants/Refugees, and low-income community members.

Our entire team wants to see a world where every youngster struggling in any way feels able to reach out and has people who’ll help them with education, jobs, and more. We want to spread out in every region so we’ll be reachable to all.
